If you fancy risking a quid when you visit any one of ten locations across Newquay as Easter approaches, you could be the winner of a genuine Cornish Giant Easter Egg to share with family and friends, or just keep it all to yourself!
Newquay Towan Blystra Lions Club have provided one of these brilliant eggs, made by Kernow Chocolate of St Eval, at each of the premises who are supporting them by selling tickets which will give everyone the chance of being a winner. It’s become an annual tradition for the Lions and regularly raises over £1,000 that goes to a variety of charities which have been chosen by the owners of the businesses selling the tickets and also the Towan Blystra Lions Community Fund which supports numerous local good causes throughout the year.
Speaking from outside one of the pubs supporting the initiative,The Two Clomes at Quintrell Downs, Lion Danny Baize said: “We haven’t done this for a couple of years because of COVID but, now we’ve got the eggs back out there, it’s obvious people are keen to be in with a chance of winning one of these great eggs.”
The Giant Easter Eggs are at the following locations for the next month, along with a board on which you can write your name to win the egg: The Two Clomes, The Quintrell Inn, The Falcon Inn (St Mawgan), The Farmer’s Arms (St Columb Minor), The Griffin Inn, The Tavern, The Mermaid, The Lanherne, Heron Tennis Centre and The Godolphin Arms.
Keep an eye out for the eggs if you are visiting any of these locations – your help in supporting local good causes will be very much appreciated.
