Newquay Youth Football Club coaches were delighted to receive a donation which means they will be able continue their voluntary training of the youngest members of the future England football team, throughout the winter, in garments which will keep them warm and dry.

Following the football club submitting a grant request to Towan Blystra Lions to help them, the Lions agreed to purchase ten all-weather jackets to help and, early in December, members of the Lions, including president Jill Bunt, turned up at Tretherras Astroturf to present the jackets at the end of a training session.
Jill said: “We know how important helping voluntary groups that support young people is and this is just one of several grant requests we have been able to make to local youth groups this year. Our funding comes from local residents and businesses who support us through our fundraising events like Newquay Beer Festival, and we are pleased to be able to use these resources to support a wide range of good causes during the course of the year.”
