After a significant amount of discussion and consideration, Newquay Towan Blystra Lions Club, the organisers of the annual Community Christmas Lunch which normally takes place at Sandy Lodge Hotel, have decided to not hold the event this year.
Lion President, Jill Bunt, explained that members of the club felt that the current Covid situation did not inspire confidence that holding an event this year would be the wisest thing to do taking account of the potential vulnerability of many of those who might wish to attend.
“It’s such a shame as this will be two years now when we’ve had to abandoned plans for an event which the community have really taken to their hearts and enjoyed but I’m sure it’s the right decision in the circumstances,” she said.
