Wednesday 21st September saw a packed audience with comedian Johnny Cowling at the beer Festival marquee, in aid of Chrissies Sunshine Appeal. An evening of song, dance and laughter. This marked the first night of the Festival and was a fitting tribute to the late Chrissie.

For those of you who never met Chrissie Jackson, she was the co-founder of the Newquay Voice newspaper, photographer & sailor. Chrissie was taken far too soon by cancer. Before she passed she was not going to sit back and mope. Along with friends, family and supporters she made it her goal to support those in similar situations. Shine a light on the amazing charities and causes close to her heart through “Chrissies Sunshine Appeal”

She would say “hold your face to the sun, and let your shadows fall behind you”

Her charity has raised several thousand pounds and amongst others the Newquay Towan Blystra Lions are helping by doing their bit.

Thank you all who attended last night and helped raise more funds by having an riotous time.
