Newquay Towan Blystra Lions used the occasion of their annual “Dad’s Dip” event to present Newquay Surf Lifesaving Club with a brand new racing board.
The Lions had been approached recently for help purchasing this board at nearly £1,000, to help train future lifeguards, and help encourage sea safety amongst young people in Cornwall.
Dad’s Dip, this year taking place on Fistral Beach was raising money for both Newquay Towan Blystra Lions, and Newquay Surf Lifesaving Club. Dozens of Dads came along with their children to enjoy a morning of fun in the sea on their special day.
Organiser Phil Bunt from Newquay Towan Blystra Lions was over the moon wtih how the event went. “Once again, we had loads of great support and everyone that turned up had a really good time – the weather was good, and the sea wasn’t too cold!
“We also had the BBQ going, and everyone brought their own bangers and burgers for lunch. It was a great atmosphere, and we must thank Newquay Surf Lifesaving Club for their help and enthusiasm too.”
