Newquay’s two Lions Groups got together this weekend, to help raise money for the people of the recently earthquake-hit Haiti.

Dozens of Lions from both Newquay Lions and the Towan Blystra Lions spent all day on Saturday collecting at the town’s local Supermarkets, including Morrisons, Sainsburys, Aldi and Tesco.

Although the total amount is still being counted, it is thought to be in the region of £400. All the money will go to the official Lions Haiti appeal, which to date has already raised $1.5 million.

More details on the official Lions appeal can be found on the Lions International Website here.
