Over 100 local people attended the Community Christmas Lunch organised by Newquay Towan Blystra Lions at the Marguson Sandy Lodge Hotel.
The annual, subsidised event, is a particularly favourite with residents who’s options to celebrate the festive season might not be as plentiful as some others, but their capacity to get into the Christmas mood and enjoy the party is certainly not diminished.
Many individuals and businesses sponsor various aspects of the lunch and the Sandy Lodge provide a superb festive meal and great environment for everyone. There was plenty of opportunity to also enjoy a free bingo session, tombola and great music from popular local songbird Paula Marcelis.
Lion Phil Bunt said: “I think this has been one of the most popular Christmas Lunches we have hosted since the event started in 2011- we had so many positive comments from people who attended and you could tell from the number who were up dancing to Paula how well it was all going.”
