Members of Newquay Towan Blystra Lions will be volunteering their time at Newquay Harbour on Sunday 30 July as the county’s oldest continual annual water sports competition – established well over 100 years ago, takes place again. The event is run by the Harbour Sports Association and everyone is welcome to take part in the races which include: Surf Board Paddle, Stand Up Paddle Board, Swimming Races for separate groups of boys and girls ages 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 plus ladies and men’s open races and a parent and child over 9 years event. There is also an Over 30s race, Relay Race, Junior Paddle Surf Board Race for girls 14 and under and boys 14 and under, sculling races for juniors, seniors and veterans plus canoe races for ages 10-12 and 13-16. To enter, come down to Newquay harbour to register after 12 noon for the events which are set to start at 2pm. Should be fun!
