Two founding members of Newquay Towan Blystra Lions Club (Charter Members), met up recently in Norfolk while the club’s president, Jill Bunt, was on holiday visiting and staying with friends.
Lion Ann Ransley, who with husband and former Towan Blystra president, Colin, relocated to the east of the country in January 2016, made a visit to the home of Lion Lesley Clarke in Thetford and met up with Jill, and husband Phil for a most enjoyable family BBQ. Ann and Colin are now members of Littleport Lions Club and Ann was their president when they met up with Phil and Jill again. As well as sharing lots of news from the past few years, the couple also exchanged their respective clubs’ bannerets, a traditional sign of friendship and loyalty between Lions Clubs across the World.
Jill said: “It was a lovely surprise to meet up with Colin and Ann again. They did so much for our club during the time they were in Newquay and, whilst we miss them for their enthusiasm and commitment, the move they made was right for them personally. I’m so pleased to see that they have settled in well and found a new club in their area – I know Cornwall’s loss is Norfolk’s gain!”
