One of Cornwall’s most popular entertainers is set to get residents singing, dancing and laughing to help raise money for a lifesaving Cornish charity.
Newquay Towan Blystra Lions Club have teamed up with the Glendorgal Resort, to offer a special night featuring Johnny Cowling to help raise money for the Cornwall Air Ambulance. The evening, which takes place on Friday November 9 will see Johnny performing in his usual cheeky style. A fantastic singer, you can expect songs from many of the greats, including Johnny’s fantastic take on enduring Elvis Presley classics. Also being a talented storyteller, he will also get you laughing with his fantastic jokes and stories.
“We are so lucky to have Johnny again this year,” said Matt Bunt from Newquay Towan Blystra Lions.
“This is the third year in which he has performed at an evening like this for us, and the reception was so good last time that people were asking for another night almost immediately.”
The evening will also feature a silent auction, and raffles all to raise money for the cause. Doors open at 7pm, and there is also a bar and parking is available on site. Entry will be by donation to Cornwall Air Ambulance on the door, with a suggested donation of £5 per head.
“It’s fantastic value, and every single penny will be going straight to this amazing, lifesaving Cornish charity that so many hold dear to their hearts.” added Matt.
“We must say a very big thank-you to the Glendorgal Hotel for hosting the event, and to all our supporters for helping put it together. We’ll see you in November!”Newquay Towan Blystra Lions have developed a great relationship with Cornwall Air Ambulance, including earlier this year purchasing a lifesaving laryngoscope for use by the Paramedics.
Newquay Towan Blystra Lions Club is a voluntary service organisation, which strives to serve people and organisations in Newquay and the surrounding communities.
