As part of their dedication to the environment, members of Newquay Towan Blystra Leos joined in with an organised beach clean, which took place at Newquay’s Fistral Beach.

The Leos were supplied with grabbers and black bags, and set to work on joining other volunteers working their way along the beach, and the sand dunes.

Fistral Beach is one of the county’s busiest beaches, and this time of year sees a lot of use by both visitors and local people alike. Unfortunately, this brings with it litter, which can affect local wildlife and also get swept into the sea and threaten marine life.

Amongst the items collected, there was lots of alcohol cans, plastic bags, food wrappers and even discarded dolls heads and toys.
