First Outing for donated money raising wheel
Trenance Cottages held their Fun in the Park event on Sunday 11 June and Towan Blystra Lions were delighted to take the opportunity to raise some funds for the local community by rolling out their latest FUNd raising device.
Children and adults alike queued to have a go at spinning the giant wheel of fortune in the hope of winning cuddly toys and other fun items. The wheel itself was donated to the club during COVID by Anne & Mike Dearling of Quintrell Downs and this was the first time it had been used.
Lions Colin Wellington, Barbara Pearson and president Jill Bunt helped round off the fun as everyone taking part still had the choice of a keyring or magnet to take away.
Colin said: “It was great fun and we raised around £150 which will go towards helping local good causes through the grants we make.
“We were very grateful for the support we received from DISC in helping providing some of our prizes.”
