Lions Zone A Chairmanship Passes from Lion Phil Bunt to Lion Peter Bragg
Newquay, Cornwall – 17 July 2025:
A warm but showery social evening marked the official handover of the Lions Zone A Chairmanship from Lion Phil Bunt of Newquay Towan Blystra Lions Club to Lion Peter Bragg of Newquay Lions Club.
The event, held on the evening of Monday 15 July, brought together over 30 Lions and guests from across Cornwall. Hosted at the home of one of the Lions, the gathering featured great company, laughter, and freshly baked Cornish pasties—delivered piping hot by Sam Hunter of Morris’ Pasties, a much-loved local business.
Zone A, which forms part of Lions Clubs International District 105SW, encompasses six active and community-focused clubs: Newquay Lions, Newquay Towan Blystra, Truro, Camborne-
Lion Phil Bunt, who has served as Zone Chair for the past year, now steps into the wider leadership role of 1st Vice District Governor for District 105SW for the 2025/26 Lions year. In handing over the reins to Lion Peter Bragg, he expressed confidence in the continued collaboration, service, and fellowship that defines the Zone A spirit.
“It’s been a real privilege to support our six Cornish clubs as Zone Chair,” said Phil. “Peter brings great experience and energy to the role, and I know Zone A will continue to thrive under his guidance.”
New Zone Chair Lion Peter Bragg thanked Phil for his service and said he was looking forward to working closely with each club to support their local projects and encourage the growth of Lions across the region.
